Medical Description

Oxavit syrup is a nutritional supplement that helps provide vitamins, minerals and L-lysine when dietary intake is limited. It contains a combination of vitamin A, vitamin D3, iodine, L-lysine, niacinamide, selenium, molybdenum, vitamin E, zinc, D-panthenol, vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12, and manganese. Vitamin A supports normal vision and tissues, vitamin D3 helps the body use calcium, B vitamins and niacinamide support energy release and nerves, iodine supports thyroid hormone production, and L-lysine helps build proteins. Vitamin E and selenium help protect cells, zinc and manganese support enzymes and tissues, molybdenum supports enzyme activity, and D-panthenol contributes to energy metabolism. Oxavit syrup is measured and taken by mouth, and it is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet.

How does this medicine work?

Vitamin A supports normal vision and body tissues, and vitamin D3 helps the body use calcium for bones. Vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12, niacinamide and D-panthenol help release energy from food and support nerves. Iodine supports thyroid hormone production, while L-lysine, an amino acid, helps build proteins. Zinc, selenium, vitamin E, manganese and molybdenum support normal enzyme, immune, antioxidant and tissue functions.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Oxavit syrup works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, ask before using it with thyroid medicines, blood-thinning medicines or other vitamin and mineral supplements. Iodine may alter thyroid control, vitamin E may increase bleeding risk, and overlapping products may provide excessive nutrients.
