Oratil Cv 500mg Strip Of 6 Tablets Description

Oratil CV 500 tablet is used to treat various bacterial infections in the body like urinary tract, respiratory tract and sexually transmitted diseases. It is an antibiotic containing cefuroxime and c

lavulanic acid as its active ingredient. Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that acts by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of bacteria, whereas clavulanic acid acts by inhibiting the enzyme made by bacteria; this will help cefuroxime to function optimally. Oratil CV 500 tablets should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. You complete the entire course of antibiotic treatment, incomplete treatment can increase the risk of re-infection and treatment failure. You can take this medicine with or without food, but it is recommended to take it at the same time daily for better results.

Mode of Action of Oratil Cv 500mg Strip Of 6 Tablets

How Does It Work?

Oratil CV 500 tablet works by the combined action of both its components - cefuroxime and clavulanic acid.
Cefuroxime acts by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of bacteria, which is responsible for bacterial infection. However, bacteria make an enzyme (beta-lactamases), which can destroy cefuroxime.
Clavulanic acid inactivates this enzyme and hence helps cefuroxime to function optimally.

Directions for Use of Oratil Cv 500mg Strip Of 6 Tablets

Oratil CV 500 tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

Some medicines can affect the way the Oratil CV 500 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
