Optanol OD tablet is used in adults to relieve pain caused by osteoarthritis, a condition that can make joints painful, stiff and swollen. Osteoarthritis commonly affects the hands, knees, hips and spine and may make everyday activities difficult. Its active ingredient is oxaceprol. Oxaceprol may reduce the movement of inflammatory cells into affected joints, easing pain, redness and swelling, but it does not restore worn joint surfaces. Optanol OD tablet is taken by mouth only as directed by a doctor.
