Medical Description
Omnacortil Drops contain Prednisolone, which is a corticosteroid medicine. This medicine belongs to a class of steroid medicines and is used to treat various allergic conditions, such as arthritis and psoriasis, and to relieve pain and inflammation of different body parts in children. Omnacortil drops work by inhibiting the release of the various chemical substances responsible for causing allergic and inflammatory conditions.
Please administer Omnacortil drops to your child with a meal. It should be given once per day, preferably after breakfast. The dosage of this medication will be determined based on your child's clinical condition, weight, age, and treatment response. Use Omnacortil Oral Solution only for the recommended duration. Do not exceed the recommended duration, as this may lead to more side effects.
Do not abruptly stop administering this medication. Suddenly stopping the medication may disrupt the ongoing treatment, and your child may experience withdrawal symptoms like dizziness, vomiting, and thirst. Before completely discontinuing the medication, the dosage should be gradually reduced.

- If your child has a herpes infection in the eye.

Other General Warnings
- Your child experiences any skin allergies and a rise in blood sugar levels, or you are diabetic.
- Your child experiences visual disturbances and eye infections. Upon long-term use, there is the probability that you may develop a cataract.
- Your child has a history of muscle weakness due to steroid therapy or has a condition called myasthenia gravis.

- Use a measuring cup, spoon or a dropper for the exact quantity
- Do not stop taking this medicine on your own

- Store below 25°C and use within 3 months
- Store it in original packing to protect it from light

- Omnacortil Drops may cause inflammation and swelling in different parts of your gut, like the stomach and pancreas and can also cause ulcers.
- Children and adolescents receiving steroids should be observed for growth abnormalities, as steroids can retard the growth.
- Omnacortil Drops make you more prone to infections. If you already have an infection, such as a fungal infection, or if you have measles or chickenpox and are taking medicines to suppress your immune response, discuss your condition with a doctor.

Interactions with other medicines
- It would be best not to take any live vaccine while taking this medicine, as it can reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.
- Antacids and antibiotics Rifamycin and Erythromycin can reduce the effectiveness of this medicine.
- You may require a higher dose of this medicine if you are taking medicines to treat fits like Phenobarbital and Phenytoin.
- If your child is taking antifungal medicines like Amphotericin and Ketoconazole antibiotics like Troleandomycin and Erythromycin, or immunosuppressants like Closporin and methotrexate, you are more likely to experience side effects from either medicine.
- There is an increased risk of stomach bleeding if you are taking painkillers or aspirin along with this medicine.
- You should be cautious if your child istaking any anti-diabetic medicine like insulin, medicines to stop blood clotting, a water pill and thyroid medicine such as Carbimazole and Thiamazole, medicines for heart failure like Digoxin
- Somatropin, a growth hormone, if taken along can inhibit its growth in an individual.
- Other medicines for treating asthma, like Salbutamol, may increase the potassium level in the blood, and you may experience irregular heartbeats.
