Medical Description

Oflozee-P eye drop is used for certain bacterial infections of the eye when inflammation is also present. It contains a combination of ofloxacin, an antibacterial medicine, prednisolone acetate, a steroid that reduces eye inflammation, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, a lubricant that acts like natural tears. Ofloxacin controls susceptible bacteria, prednisolone acetate reduces redness and swelling, and the lubricant eases surface dryness and discomfort. Oflozee-P eye drop is placed in the affected eye only under an eye doctor's direction.

The steroid prednisolone acetate reduces the release of chemical signals that cause eye redness, swelling and itching. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose forms a lubricating layer over the eye and helps reduce dryness and discomfort.
