Medical Description
Oflotas-OZ tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of diarrhoea of mixed infection in adults. This medicine is a combination medicine containing ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Oflotas OZ works against the infection-causing bacteria as a combined mechanism of its two components.
Ofloxacin inhibits the action of enzymes involved in the replication of bacteria and thus inhibits their growth. Ornidazole gets converted into an active form in the body which interacts with bacterial DNA, inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death.
Zenflox Oz, Ornof, Orni O, and Nor Metrogyl Plus are a few other tablets that contain ofloxacin and ornidazole. Take Oflotas OZ as advised by your doctor at the prescribed dose and duration. Never stop taking this medicine on your own even if you feel better, as incomplete treatment may increase the risk of re-infection.
