Oflotas OZ Tablet

• If you are allergic to ofloxacin, ornidazole, or any of the ingredients of Oflotas-OZ tablet.
• If you are allergic to the class of medicines called Fluoroquinolone.
• If you have a history of fits (epilepsy).
• If you have problems related to the tendon (tissue connecting muscles to bones) like inflammation and swelling of the tendons (tendonitis).
• If you are pregnant or are planning to have a baby or if you are breastfeeding.
• If your age is less than 18 years.
• If you have Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells) or a family history of this deficiency.

• Nausea

• Loss of appetite

• Headache
• Sleep disturbance
• Constipation
• Altered mental state
• Stomach ache

Other General Warnings

• You feel strain/pain in your tendons (tendinitis), immediately stop this medicine, do not move the joint and inform your doctor immediately.
• You are experiencing continuous or bloody diarrhoea.
• You have diabetes, your blood glucose can drop when you are on this medicine.
• You have myasthenia gravis, this medicine can worsen it.
• You experience suicidal thoughts, immediately inform your doctor.
• You experience fits or have a history of fits.
• You feel restlessness, lightheadedness, confusion or hallucinations.
• You feel allergic reactions like fever or rashes.
• You have a kidney problem or heart problem.
• You have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells).

• Store Oflotas-OZ tablet in a cool and dry place.
• Protect it from light.
• Keep it out of the reach of children.

• Oflotas-OZ tablet is an antibiotic medication used in the treatment of diarrhoea of mixed infection in adults. It should not be used to treat any other condition unless specified by a doctor.
• Take the medication with a full glass of water: This helps to prevent stomach upset and improves the absorption of the medication.
• You should always complete the entire course of treatment with antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor, even if you start feeling better after taking this medicine. Missing a dose or stopping this medicine can cause treatment failure.
• Inform the doctor about your complete medical history and whether you are currently breastfeeding, planning a pregnancy, or pregnant before beginning the treatment with an Oflotas Oz tablet.
• During treatment, side effects may include dry mouth, loss of appetite, nausea, altered taste, constipation, and rash. These signs are typically not severe and go away on their own.
• If you experience dizziness or sleepiness after taking Oflotas-OZ tablet, it is recommended to avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing any such tasks that require mental alertness.
• It is also advised to avoid alcohol for better treatment.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Oflotas-OZ tablet works or the Oflotas-OZ tablet itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time. However, this tablet contains ofloxacin and ornidazole. Any interaction which is seen with any of these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination too.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
• Especially, if you are taking medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, high/abnormal cholesterol levels, blood thinners, anti-infectives, anti-epileptic, anti-asthmatics, pain killers, immunomodulatory medicines or medicines for brain-related disorders.
• Medicines used to treat acidity (antacids) like Sucralfate, and antacids containing calcium and magnesium should not be taken two hours before or after this medicine.
• Medicines used to treat a certain type of stomach ulcer like cimetidine can alter the effect of this medicine when used together.
• Blood sugar can drop if you are on insulin or anti-diabetic medicines like glibenclamide and thus careful monitoring of blood glucose is needed.
