Medical Description

Novamox 500 capsule is a penicillin-type antibiotic containing Amoxicillin. It is used to treat infections caused by bacteria like respiratory tract infection, lung infection, UTI, skin infections, infection of tonsils, throat, etc. Take this medicine exactly as told by the doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine without informing your doctor. The common side effects with Novamox 500 capsules are nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea, most of which are temporary but if you feel the side effects persist or your condition worsens, you should contact your doctor immediately. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting this medicine.

Contraindications of Novamox 500mg Strip Of 10 Capsules

  • If you are allergic to Amoxicillin or any other components of this medicine
  • If you have infectious mononucleosis or glandular fever (caused by the Epstein–Barr virus)
  • If you have a history of any allergic reactions to Penicillins or Cephalosporins

Side effects of Novamox 500mg Strip Of 10 Capsules

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Skin rash
  • Skin itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, body or breathing difficulties (serious side effects)
  • Some severe liver side effects like jaundice, severe diarrhoea, darker urine or paler stools are observed if you have been taking this medicine for several weeks

How Does It Work?

Novamox 500 capsule acts by preventing one or more enzymes called Penicillin-Binding Proteins (PBPs) which help to form a bacterial cell wall, thus resulting in bacterial cell lysis rupture and death.

Directions for Use of Novamox 500mg Strip Of 10 Capsules

Take Novamox 500 capsule as directed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Swallow it whole, do not cut, break or chew it. Take it regularly at a fixed time. Do not consume it more than the prescribed quantity by your doctor.
