How does this medicine work?

Coldact capsule contains two medicines that work in different ways. Phenylephrine narrows the widened blood vessels inside the nose, which reduces the stuffy, blocked feeling and makes breathing easier. Chlorpheniramine maleate calms the body's reaction to allergy triggers, which eases a runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and itching. Together they give relief from cold and allergy symptoms.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Coldact capsule works, and it can change how a few other medicines act. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins, and herbal products you take. Do not take this medicine if you are using, or have stopped in the last two weeks, certain medicines for depression or Parkinson's disease, unless your doctor tells you to, as the combination can cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure; ask your doctor or pharmacist if your medicine is one of these. Also mention if you are taking other cold or allergy medicines or medicines that cause drowsiness, as combining them can add to sleepiness.
