Medical Description
Neosporin ointment is a topical antibiotic. It is used to treat and prevent superficial bacterial skin infections such as accidental cuts, scratches, minor burns, injuries, wounds and wound stitches. Neosporin ointment contains a combination of polymyxin B, bacitracin and neomycin as active substances. This medicine is meant only for external application. Do not ingest it. Use this medicine exactly as recommended by your doctor. Do not use more of the ointment or apply it more often than prescribed. Before using Neosporin ointment, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding or if you have any other skin conditions. This medicine is not recommended for use in neonates and infants (less than 2 years).

- Neosporin ointment is used for the treatment and prevention of bacterial skin infections.
- It is used to treat and prevent superficial bacterial skin infections associated with open wounds, wound stitches, accidental cuts, minor burns, scratches, scraped skin, and skin grafts.
Contraindications of NEOSPORIN TUBE OF 30GM SKIN OINTMENT
- If you are allergic to polymyxin B, bacitracin, neomycin or any other ingredient of Neomycin ointment.
- If you are allergic to substances such as framycetin, kanamycin, gentamycin and other related antibiotics. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
- If you already have nerve deafness.
- If you have a hole/rupture in the eardrum.

Directions for Use of NEOSPORIN TUBE OF 30GM SKIN OINTMENT
- Use Neosporin ointment exactly directed by your doctor.
- It is meant for external use only.
- Clean and dry your hands before and after applying the medicine.
- Apply the ointment to the affected areas of the skin and gently rub it in.
- In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

- Store Neosporin ointment below 25°C. Do not freeze.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Overdose
- As Neosporin ointment is meant for external application, cases of overdose are unlikely.
- However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
- If you have applied extra quantities of it, wipe out the excess medicine with tissue or cotton.
Missed a Dose
- If you have missed applying Neosporin ointment, apply it as soon as possible.
- If it's time for your next application, then skip the missed application and continue with your regular application schedule.
- Do not over-apply this medicine to compensate for the missed application.
