Medical Description

Moka L Tablet contains a combination of montelukast and levocetirizine as its active ingredients. It is used to provide relief from allergic rhinitis, including a runny or stuffy nose, airway blockage, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and other allergic symptoms. Moka L Tablet blocks the release of chemical substances, such as histamine and leukotrienes, responsible for these allergic reactions. Moka L Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor, in the correct doses and for the exact duration prescribed. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Your doctor may advise you to take Moka L Tablet, preferably at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness.

Uses

Moka L Tablet is used for relieving the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as a runny or stuffy nose, blockage in airways, difficulty in breathing, sneezing and watery eyes.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to levocetirizine, cetirizine or montelukast or any other ingredients of Moka L Tablet.
  • If you have kidney problems or undergoing dialysis.
  • If you are unable to digest lactose and glucose (galactose intolerance).

  • You are taking medicines for allergies (corticosteroids) like Prednisone and Prednisolone.
  • You are already taking painkillers like aspirin as it can increase the risk of asthma.
  • You experience a rash or difficulty in breathing.
  • You are suffering from a psychiatric illness.
  • You are suffering from a genetic disorder called phenylketonuria.
  • You are not able to empty the bladder completely.
  • This medicine can cause anxiety, aggression, lack of sleep and suicidal thoughts. In case you experience any of these, immediately inform your doctor.
  • Moka L Tablet is not meant for relief from acute asthma. Use your inhaler for asthma relief in an acute attack.

Directions for Use

Moka L Tablet should be taken as instructed by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine. It should preferably be taken at night. It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results and should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

  • Store this medicine below 30°C.
  • Try to protect it from light and moisture.
  • Keep it away from the reach of children and pets.

  • An overdose of Moka L Tablet may cause drowsiness, aggression, restlessness, thirst and headache.

  • If you have missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember.
  • If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.

  • Especially if you are taking medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, high/abnormal cholesterol levels, blood thinners, anti-infectives, anti-diabetics, anti-asthmatics, pain killers, immunomodulatory medicines or medicines for the brain-related disorder.

No, it will not help in an acute attack of asthma. It is advised to take appropriate rescue medicine like inhalers given by your doctor during an asthma attack. Keep taking Moka L Tablet as well and do not stop it abruptly.
