Meftal Spas Strip Of 10 Tablets
Description
Meftal Spas are used to relieve pain and cramps during and before the menstrual cycle (periods). It contains a combination of dicyclomine and mefenamic acid, which block certain chemicals responsible for pain and relax the smooth muscles. Please do not use it for more than seven days. Take Meftal Spas with food. Do not give it to children under 12; pediatric formulations should be given under medical supervision.
Meftal Spas tablets may cause common side effects such as dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, nausea, and sleepiness. If you experience these side effects and they do not improve or worsen, inform your doctor. Use the smallest effective dose.
Before taking the medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems or are taking other medications. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before using the medicine.
Your doctor decides the dose and duration of the Meftal Spas tablet. Period pain is very common among women and is also known as dysmenorrhea. Cyclopam MF tablet and Spasmonil Plus tablet also contain dicyclomine and mefenamic acid.

Uses
- Menstrual (period) pain – It helps reduce the pain and cramps many women feel during their periods.
- Abdominal cramps – It can ease pain from cramps caused by gas, indigestion, or infections.
- Spasms in the stomach or intestines – It helps relax the muscles in your gut to reduce spasms and discomfort.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to mefenamic acid, dicyclomine or any ingredient of the Meftal Spas tablet.
- If you have inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, or intestinal obstruction.
- If you have severe kidney, liver or heart function problems.
- If you have asthma or have experienced an asthmatic attack due to painkillers.
- If you have a problem in passing urine or obstruction in the bladder and kidneys.
- If you have a condition of muscle weakness (Myasthenia gravis).
- If you have a condition of increased eye pressure(Glaucoma).
- It should not be used in infants below 6 months of age.
- Meftal Spas should not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Meftal Spas tablet should not be used for managing pain before, during and after coronary bypass surgery.

- You are suffering from respiratory disorders like asthma and lung and throat-related disorders.
- You may experience fluid retention and high blood pressure. It should be used with caution in patients with existing medical conditions.
- You are suffering from an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue.
- You experience diarrhoea, skin reactions, or body overheating after taking Meftal Spas.
- You have an existing liver or kidney function problem, or a bleeding disorder affecting the stomach or intestine.
- You are suffering from fits, epilepsy and seizures.
- You have a prostate-related disorder, ulcerative colitis and megacolon.
- You experience some related brain disorders like confusion, hallucinations, tiredness or aggression.
Directions for Use
- Take Meftal Spas tablets as directed by your doctor, with food and a glass of water to prevent stomach upset.
- Do not chew or break the tablet.
- It's best to take it at the same time every day for the best results, and do not exceed the dosage prescribed by your doctor.

- Store Meftal-Spas tablets below 25°C.
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Medicines used to thin blood, such as warfarin, should be used with caution as there are chances of increased bleeding upon long-term use.
- Anti-platelet medicines such as aspirin or clopidogrel, steroids and painkillers when taken along can induce stomach or intestinal bleeding, thus should be avoided.
- Antidiabetic medicine if taken along with Meftal Spas may lead to low blood glucose.
- Meftal-Spas tablet should not be taken for 8 to 12 days after taking a medicine called Mifepristone.
- Digoxin used to treat heart failure should not be taken along with Meftal-Spas tablet.
- Other medicines, such as blood pressure-lowering medicines, immunomodulators, lithium-containing medicines, and anti-infective medicines, should be used cautiously.
