Lorawel Tablet is a prescription medicine indicated for a person suffering from anxiety. Lorawel 2 mg tablet has Lorazepam as the main ingredient. Lorazepam is a type of Benzodiazepine that works by

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Lorawel tablets?

No, driving is not recommended. Lorawel tablets can cause the feeling of drowsiness and can also decrease the ability to concentrate. Driving a vehicle after taking the Lorawel tablets should be avoided to ensure safety.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Lorawel tablets?

Mode of Action of Lorawel 2 MG

How Does It Work?

Lorazepam is a type of Benzodiazepine (tranquillisers) and works by enhancing a chemical named GABA (gamma-Aminobutyric acid). It produces a calming effect and relieves the symptoms of anxiety.

Directions for Use of Lorawel 2 MG

Take Lorawel tablets according to the doctor’s recommendation only.
Take the tablets with or without the food.
Lorawel tablets should be taken orally with water.
Do not distort the tablets by either chewing or crushing them for use.

Interactions of Lorawel 2 MG

Interactions with other medicines

Lorawel tablets can interact with various medicines. Its combination with:
Chlordiazepoxide and Clonazepam (anti-anxiety medicines) can increase the risk of severity of its side effects.
Aceclofenac (painkiller), Digoxin (heart medicine) can decrease the excretion rate, which further increases the concentration of Lorawel in the body.
Amiodarone (heart medicine) can decrease the metabolism of Lorawel.
Chlorpromazine (antipsychotic) can increase the depressive action on the nervous system.
Carbamazepine (anti-epileptic) can alter thyroid function if used in combination.

Interactions with food items

Avoid grapefruit juice and caffeinated beverages while having Lorawel tablets.
