Medical Description

L Gut capsule is a nutritional supplement used under medical advice to support relief from acid reflux, nausea, stomach ulcers and acid-related inflammation of the food pipe. It contains a combination of levosulpiride and rabeprazole. The rabeprazole component reduces stomach acid, while levosulpiride helps food move from the stomach into the intestine and may reduce nausea. L Gut capsule is swallowed whole with water, usually on an empty stomach as advised, and should complement a varied, balanced diet rather than replace medical treatment. It is not generally recommended for children unless prescribed.

  • Stomach ulcers: Acid can irritate ulcers in the stomach; rabeprazole lowers acid exposure to support healing.

How does this medicine work?

The rabeprazole component blocks the stomach's acid-making pump, so less acid is released. The levosulpiride component reduces dopamine signals involved in vomiting and helps food move from the stomach into the intestine. Together, these actions may reduce acid reflux and nausea and support healing of acid-related irritation.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way L Gut works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, mention medicines that affect heart rhythm, sleeping or calming medicines, levodopa or other dopamine medicines, medicines for human immunodeficiency virus infection, and medicines such as ketoconazole or itraconazole that need stomach acid for absorption.
