Medical Description
Iys suspension is an oral antibiotic used for selected serious bacterial infections of the stomach or intestines and, in some cases, to reduce bacteria in the stomach before surgery. It contains colistin sulphate, which damages the outer membrane of susceptible bacteria and causes them to die. Because colistin can affect the kidneys and nerves, treatment requires medical supervision and is not suitable for unrelated infections. Iys suspension is taken by mouth after shaking well and measuring each amount with the measuring cup supplied with the pack.
