Contraindications
- If you are allergic to Ipratropium or any other ingredients of Ipravent respules.
- If you are allergic to atropine or its derivatives.

- You are suffering from an eye problem called glaucoma.
- You have difficulty passing urine due to bladder or other problems.
- You have an enlarged prostate (in men).
- You have a condition called cystic fibrosis (a hereditary disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system).
- You on medications like xanthines (such as theophylline), bronchodilators (such as salbutamol or terbutaline).
Directions for Use
- Ipravent respules should be used in the exact dose and frequency advised by your doctor.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Follow all the instructions and read the label or leaflet before use.
- It should not be swallowed. It is to be inhaled with the help of a nebulizer or a mouthpiece. It should be used immediately after opening it.
- Do not dilute the content of Ipravent respules or inhale the respules directly.
- Discard all the solutions left in the nebulizer and open respules as well.
Storage and disposal
- Store Ipravent respules in the original packing.
- Keep the device tightly closed, so as to protect it from moisture, light and heat.
- Keep it away from children and pets.

Overdose
- Symptoms of overdose are dry mouth, high fever, palpitation, restlessness, confusion, hallucinations, visual abnormalities, etc.
- Seek urgent medical help if you experience any of the symptoms or feel you have used too much of Ipravent respules.

How Does It Work?
- Certain chemical substances (called Acetylcholine) when released in the body are responsible for the tightness of breathing tubes.
- Ipratropium in Ipravent respules works by blocking the effect of this substance and decreases the tone of breathing tubes, thus making breathing easier.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- You should always tell the doctor if you are taking any other medicines, herbal preparation and supplements to avoid any interaction with Ipravent respules.
- Concomitant use of Ipravent respules is not recommended with anticholinergic medicines like atropine, clidinium, cyclopentolate, dicylomine, tiotropium, etc.
- Medicines like atenolol, bisoprolol (used to treat high blood pressure and heart problems) and Xanthine preparations like Theophylline (used in asthma) when simultaneously used along with Ipravent, may alter its effects.
- Medicines like Albuterol, Formoterol (used to treat asthma) should be used with caution along with Ipravent respules.
