Halidol 1.5 MG Description
Halidol 1.5mg Tablet is used for the treatment of mental disorders such as schizophrenia (a condition in which the person is unable to differentiate between real and non-real) and bipolar disorder (a
condition in which the person sometimes feels too depressed and at other times too excited). It is also used to manage uncontrollable and repetitive movements or sounds in adults and children suffering from Tourette's disorder. Halidol 1.5mg Tablet contains haloperidol as an active ingredient. Halidol 1.5mg Tablet dose may vary depending on the severity of the condition and your age. It must be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Consult your doctor before stopping the medicine or changing the duration and dose of the medicine. Halidol 1.5mg Tablet side effects may range from very common to rare. Very common side effects include agitation, headache, and disturbances in sleep. These side effects may disappear once your body gets adjusted to the medicine. Consult your doctor if you notice persistent or worsening side effects. Halidol 1.5mg Tablet interacts with alcohol and St. John’s Wort to produce symptoms of an overdose of this medicine and may even lead to coma.

Contraindications of Halidol 1.5 MG
- If you have or had allergic reaction to haloperidol or any other ingredients in the medicine.
- If your reactions to your surrounding event is abnormally slow.
- If you are suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
- If you have dementia (forgetfulness).
- If you are suffering from any type of heart problems.
- If the potassium level in your body is low and not treated.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Halidol 1.5 MG
- Halidol Tablet must be taken as per the doctor’s prescription.
- Halidol tablets can be taken with or without food.
- Make sure to swallow the Halidol Tablet as a whole and do not chew, crush or break it.
- Halidol tablets must be taken at the same time as per prescription.
- Do not change the dose or frequency of taking Halidol Tablet without consulting your doctor.
- Do not stop taking Halidol Tablet on your own, and continue taking it as long as your doctor recommends.
Interactions of Halidol 1.5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Halidol 1.5mg Tablet must not be taken with medicines used for heart problems such as amiodarone, ibutilide, quinidine and sotalol, as it may cause the heart problems to increase and become worse.
- Avoid taking Halidol Tablets with medicines for depression such as citalopram and escitalopram, as it may worsen the heart condition and also produce symptoms of an overdose of haloperidol like sleepiness and breathing difficulties....
- Medicines for nausea and vomiting like dolasetron; medicine to lower blood pressure such as bepridil; painkiller such as methadone, must not be taken with Halidol tablet as it may cause problems in the heart....
Interactions with food items
- Halidol Tablets may interact with St. John’s Wort, a herbal medication for the management of depression, to produce suppression of your brain’s activity and even coma.
