Glynit 2.6mg tablet contains glycerine trinitrate, a vasodilator used in heart diseases. It is used to treat angina pectoris, a chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. Glynit 2.6mg tabl

Mode of Action of Glynit 2.6 MG
How Does It Work?
Glycerine Trinitrate acts on blood vessels and smooth muscles, leading to their dilatation which relieves the pain.
Directions for Use of Glynit 2.6 MG
- Glynit 2.6mg tablet is to be taken orally as directed by the physician
- Do not break, crush or chew the tablet
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
Interactions of Glynit 2.6 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Glycerine Trinitrate along with vasodilators, antihypertensives, beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers and neuroleptics, tricyclic antidepressants and sapropterin, can lead to low blood pressure
- N-acetylcysteine may increase the effects of glycerine Trinitrate
- Glycerine Trinitrate may interfere in the clotting mechanism when used with heparin
- Glycerine Trinitrate and anticholinergic, antimuscarinics, tricyclic antidepressants can cause dryness of mouth
- Ergot alkaloids may oppose the vasodilatation effect of glycerine Trinitrate
Other general Interactions
- Glycerine Trinitrate should be used with caution in patients with weak heart function, and severe low blood pressure
- It should be used with caution in patients with circulatory disorders of the brain
- Glycerine Trinitrate may cause low oxygen levels in patients with severe breathing difficulties
- Caution is advised in patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, hypothyroidism, low oxygen in the blood, low body temperature or a recent episode of heart attack or malnutrition.
Storage and disposal of Glynit 2.6 MG
- Store Glynit 2.6mg tablet at 20° to 25°C
- Protect from direct light and moisture
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets
- The expired or unneeded tablets should be disposed of in a safe way
