Medical Description

Gatiray B Eye eye drop is used for certain bacterial eye infections, including bacterial conjunctivitis and, when prescribed by an eye specialist, bacterial corneal ulcers or infection prevention after eye surgery. It contains a combination of gatifloxacin, an antibiotic, and betamethasone, a strong steroid for short-term use as prescribed. Gatifloxacin limits susceptible bacterial growth, while betamethasone reduces eye inflammation such as redness and swelling. Gatiray B eye drop is applied directly into the affected eye and is not useful for viral or fungal eye infections.

  • Bacterial corneal ulcers: An eye specialist may prescribe it for serious bacterial infection affecting the clear front surface of the eye.
  • Post-surgical infection prevention: An eye specialist may use it to reduce bacterial contamination while the eye heals after certain surgeries.

If you are allergic to any ingredient of this medicine, do not use it. Do not use Gatiray B eye drop if you have had a severe allergy to fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Do not use it for viral or fungal eye infections unless an eye specialist specifically advises it.
