Medical Description

Fosirol sachet contains Fosfomycin, an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections in women. Infection can be caused due to various susceptible strains of bacteria. Fosirol sachet works by inhibiting the growth of the bacterial cell wall thus leading to its death. It should not be used in children below 12 years of age. If you experience side effects like headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, indigestion after taking Fosirol Sachet. If these symptoms do not resolve or get worsened, reach out to the nearest hospital or clinic immediately.

Uses of Fosirol 3gm Sachet Of 8gm Powder

Fosirol sachet is used for the treatment of urinary tract infections (acute cystitis) in women due to susceptible strains of E.Coli and Entreococcus faecalis.

Pregnancy

Mode of Action of Fosirol 3gm Sachet Of 8gm Powder

How Does It Work?

Fosirol works by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of bacteria, which results in killing the bacteria responsible for infection of the urinary tract.

Directions for Use of Fosirol 3gm Sachet Of 8gm Powder

  • Fosirol Powder should be taken on an empty stomach either 1 hour before a meal or at least 2 hours after a meal before bedtime and after emptying the urinary bladder.
  • Pour the entire contents of a single-dose sachet of Fosirol sachet into a glass of water and stir to dissolve. Do not use hot water. Fosirol sachet should be taken immediately after dissolving in water.

  • Concomitant use of metoclopramide (acidity) decreases the effect of Fosirol sachet.
