Medical Description
Formoflo 250 transcaps is an anti-asthmatic medication. It contains a combination of fluticasone and formoterol as active substances. Formoflo 250 transcaps is used to prevent breathing difficulties due to asthma and other chest conditions. It also helps you to stop wheezing and becoming breathless. Use this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Before using Formoflo 250 transcaps, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history. This medicine should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

- Your symptoms do not improve or worsen after using this medicine.
- You had or have tuberculosis (TB).
- You have fungal, viral or other infections of the lungs or chest.
- You have a condition called thyrotoxicosis due to an overactive thyroid gland.
- You have a tumor of the adrenal glands called phaeochromocytoma or your adrenal gland is not working properly.
- You have diabetes or low blood potassium levels.
- You have heart disorders like high blood pressure, enlarged heart muscle, ballooning at a weak spot in the artery wall (aneurysm), irregular/abnormal heart rhythm, heart failure or narrowed heart arteries....
- You are taking medicines for treating asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (xanthine derivatives like theophylline), inflammation (steroids like prednisone) or fluid accumulation/high blood pressure (diuretics like furosemide)....
- You have low blood levels of potassium.
- You develop symptoms like blurred vision or other vision disturbances after using this medicine.
- You develop psychological or behavioural effects like sleep disorders, anxiety, depression or aggression (particularly in children) after using Formoflo 250 transcaps.
- You are scheduled for surgery or have been through trauma.
- You experience symptoms like abdominal pain, weight loss, tiredness, headache, nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, decreased level of consciousness, low blood sugar and fits/seizures after using this medicine....
Directions for Use of FORMOFLO 250MCG TRANSCAPS
- Use Formoflo 250 transcaps exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Rinse your mouth, gargle or brush your teeth after using this medicine and spit out the residue to avoid a sore mouth or throat or a hoarse voice.
- Do not stop using this medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.
Storage and disposal of FORMOFLO 250MCG TRANSCAPS
- Store Formoflo 250 transcaps in a cool and dry place below 25°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Dosage of FORMOFLO 250MCG TRANSCAPS
Overdose
- The symptoms of overdose of Formoflo 250 transcaps include high/low blood pressure, headache, tremor, tiredness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth and muscle cramps.
- If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
- If you missed any dose of Formoflo 250 transcaps, take it as soon as you remember.
- If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
- Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

How Does It Work?
- Formoflo 250 transcaps contains a combination of fluticasone and formoterol as active substances.
- Fluticasone is a steroid that helps to reduce swelling and inflammation in the lungs.
- Formoterol is a long-acting beta-2 agonist that acts as a bronchodilator. It makes it easier for you to breathe by helping the airways in your lungs to stay open.
Interactions of FORMOFLO 250MCG TRANSCAPS
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Formoflo 250 transcaps works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- The use of Formoflo 250 transcaps with medicines used for treating fungal infections (itraconazole), HIV (nelfinavir) and bacterial infections (clarithromycin) may increase the risk of side effects. These combinations should be avoided unless the benefit outweighs the risk....
- The ECG changes and/or low blood potassium levels that may occur due to the use of medicines used for treating fluid accumulation (non-potassium sparing diuretics like a loop or thiazide diuretics) can be worsened by the use of this medicine....
- There is an increased risk of irregular/abnormal heart rhythm if anaesthesia with halogenated hydrocarbons is used along with this medicine.
- Heart-related side effects may be observed if Formoflo 250 transcaps is used with medicines used for the management of Parkinson's disease (levodopa), thyroid disorders (levothyroxine) and heart failure (digoxin) or to begin/improve contractions during labour (oxytocin)....
- A severe increase in blood pressure may occur if medicines are used for treating depression/Parkinson's disease (monoamine oxidase inhibitors like selegiline), protozoal infections (furazolidone) or Hodgkin's disease (procarbazine) used together with this medicine....
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for the management of depression (tricyclic antidepressants like amitriptyline), psychotic symptoms (risperidone), irregular/abnormal heartbeat (quinidine) or allergic reactions (cetirizine)....
- Medicines containing adrenaline or other beta-agonists like salbutamol or atenolol should not be used together with Formoflo 250 transcaps.
