Medical Description

Flutibact ointment is a topical antibiotic and steroid. It is used for the treatment of skin problems with associated bacterial infections. It is a combination of two medicines - fluticasone, a steroid medicine, and mupirocin, an antibiotic medicine. It works by decreasing swelling, itching, and redness and treating bacterial infection. Flutibact ointment is meant for external use only and should be used as recommended by the doctor. Do not use this medicine for any other condition other than prescribed. Protect your skin from direct sunlight while using this ointment. If this medicine comes in direct contact with the eye, wash it off immediately by splashing water and seek medical assistance.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to fluticasone, mupirocin, or any of the other ingredients of Flutibact ointment.
  • If you have red and visible blood vessels on the face.
  • If you have pimples over the face or body.
  • If you have a skin problem around the mouth.
  • If you have itching with no swelling.
  • If you have itching in the genital area and anal area.
  • If you have viral or fungal infections of the skin.
  • If you have bacterial skin infections without any other skin problems.

Pregnancy

Flutibact ointment is to be applied on topical surfaces and the quantities which might get absorbed from the skin is too little. Still, this medicine should be used under medical supervision by a pregnant woman. If prescribed, do not use this ointment on larger skin areas for a prolonged period.

Directions for Use

  • Use Flutibact ointment as directed by your doctor.

  • In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

Overdose
