Flunil 90mg Capsules Description

Flunil Capsule is an antidepressant medication used to treat major depression, OCD, bulimia nervosa (eating disorder), and panic disorder. Flunil Capsule contains the medicine 'Fluoxetine,' a sel

ective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It works by preventing nerves from reabsorbing serotonin, a mood-enhancing chemical messenger that talks between brain cells. Fluoxetine causes an increase in serotonin concentrations in the neuron synapse, which aids in mood regulation and depression treatment. Flunil should be taken as directed by your psychiatrist. It should be continued as long as your doctor prescribes it, depending on your condition and reaction to the treatment. Typical adverse effects may occur, including insomnia (difficulty sleeping), headache, diarrhoea, nausea, weariness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, and indigestion. The majority of these side effects do not require medical attention and will go away over time. However, if you are experiencing these adverse effects regularly, you should consult your doctor. Also, do not stop taking Flunil capsules on your own because withdrawal symptoms may occur. Because of the lack of safety and effectiveness of Flunil Capsule, it should not be administered to children under eight. You should avoid alcohol while taking Flunil Capsule since it may cause dizziness.

If you’re allergic to any ingredients in Flunil.
If you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors or metoprolol, do not use Flunil Capsule.
If you use Flunil Capsule with opioid antagonists like buprenorphine or naloxone, you may develop serotonin syndrome, which is a dangerous condition.
If you have suicidal tendencies, tell your doctor right away before starting this medicine.
In the case of epilepsy, mania, glaucoma, diabetes, bleeding disorders, or hyponatremia, tell your doctor.

Directions for Use of Flunil 90mg Capsules

Flunil Capsules can be taken with or without food.

Interactions of Flunil 90mg Capsules

Interactions with other medicines

Flunil Capsule prevents tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline, desipramine, imipramine, nortriptyline) from being metabolised, resulting in raised serum levels and causing toxicity.
Flunil Capsule may cause hyponatremia; simultaneous use of a loop diuretic (bumetanide, furosemide, torsemide) may create additive hyponatremia effects.
Flunil Capsule decreases serotonin reuptake; when taken with a serotonin agonist (buspirone), serotonin syndrome can occur.
Flunil Capsule may block carbamazepine metabolism, leading to higher carbamazepine levels and toxicity.
Serotonin reuptake inhibitors (Flunil Capsule) may be inhibited by cyproheptadine, a serotonin antagonist; watch for altered antidepressant response.
