Medical Description

Fibroease tablet contains mifepristone as its active ingredient. It is strictly used under medical supervision for the prescribed clinical condition. This medication is not for pregnancy of more than 10 weeks. Mifepristone is a synthetic steroid soluble in water that is administered orally. It softens the cervix, contracts the uterus, and permits the uterine contents to be expelled. This medicine works by inhibiting the effect of progesterone, a female hormone required for maintaining pregnancy and generating uterine contractions, allowing for its clinical action. To get the most effect, the tablet is used in conjunction with other medications. It may take up to 48 hours for the medication to take effect, and you may have bleeding. If you have excessive vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain, consult your doctor. History of ectopic pregnancy, or current use of an intrauterine device, should be disclosed to the doctor before taking this prescription. Inform the doctor about any other medications you are taking should, as it may modify the action of this medicine.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

This medicine has mifepristone as a primary ingredient. Fibroease tablet prevents hormone progesterone from acting. Progesterone is an essential hormone for a healthy pregnancy. Without this hormone, the uterus (womb) lining breaks down, much like it does after a menstrual period, and the pregnancy stops growing. By binding to receptors and sensitising the inner linings of the uterus, Fibroease tablet limits the effect of progesterone, causing bleeding and contractions. It also reduces the action of excess cortisol by blocking its impact on receptors.

  • Especially/In particular if you are taking medicines like Ketoconazole, Erythromycin, Hydrocortisone, Itraconazole, Dexamethasone, Pimozide, Warfarin, Ergotamine and Glucocorticoids.
