Ephrilime Syrup 100ml Description

Ephrilime syrup is a prescription medicine used to treat dry cough. The dry cough may be because of allergy, flu, cold, irritants, etc. Dry cough does not produce sputum, which makes it very irritat

ing. Ephrilime syrup contains two very important active ingredients: chlorpheniramine and codeine. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine medicine that acts by blocking H1 receptors of histamine. Histamine is a chemical released in response to allergic reactions and produces allergy symptoms in the form of stuffy or running nose, cough, etc. By blocking an important receptor H1 to which histamine binds, chlorpheniramine takes care of dry cough. Codeine is an opioid, and it mainly acts as a cough suppressant. It is also important for relieving the congestion due to sinusitis, runny nose, itching of throat and eyes, watery eyes, etc. It is usually recommended for a short period, not more than a week in a row. Ephrilime syrup causes side effects including nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, dizziness, sleepiness, and increased sweating.
