Emetant Injection 1 No's

• Known hypersensitivity to Emetant injection or any of its ingredients.
• Concurrent use with pimozide.

• Tiredness (fatigue)
• Diarrhea
• Low white blood cell counts (neutropenia, leukopenia)
• Weakness (asthenia)
• Low red blood cell counts (anemia)
• Numbness or tingling in hands and feet (peripheral neuropathy)
• Indigestion
• Urinary tract infection
• Pain in the arms or legs

• Signs of a severe allergic reaction like hives, rash, itching, skin peeling, flushing, difficulty breathing or swallowing, dizziness, rapid or weak heartbeat, or feeling faint
• Infusion site reactions like redness, swelling, pain, or, in severe cases, tissue damage near the injection site
• Skin reactions such as blistering or peeling (rare)

Other General Warnings

• You have had a previous allergic reaction to Emetant injection, or aprepitant treatment should not be restarted in this case.
• You have liver problems, as additional monitoring may be needed for severe impairment.
• You are taking warfarin, hormonal contraceptives, benzodiazepines, or any medicine that affects the CYP3A4 enzyme.
• You develop pain, swelling, or discoloration at the infusion site during or after treatment.
• You are receiving vesicant (tissue-damaging) chemotherapy, which raises the risk of infusion site reactions.

• Emetant injection is given by a doctor or nurse as an intravenous injection in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Patients should never attempt to change, delay, skip, or repeat a dose on their own.

• If you're on warfarin, ensure you have your INR (blood clotting) measured regularly as your doctor recommends.
• If you use hormonal contraception, discuss additional or alternative contraception with your doctor during treatment;
• Seek urgent medical help if you notice hives, rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing or swallowing after any dose.
• Watch for signs of infection (fever, sore throat) or unusual bleeding or bruising, and inform your doctor if these occur.

Overdose

• There is no specific antidote for Emetant injection overdose.
• Because Emetant injection is always administered and monitored in a healthcare setting by trained staff, the chance of overdose is very low.
• If an overdose occurs, the infusion is stopped, and supportive treatment and monitoring are provided. Emetant injection is not removed by dialysis.

Missed a Dose

Interactions with other medicines

• Pimozide must not be used with Emetant injection due to the risk of serious heart rhythm problems.
• Dexamethasone and methylprednisolone: Emetant injection can increase their levels. Your doctor may adjust their doses if needed.
• Warfarin: Emetant injection may reduce the INR (a blood-clotting test). Your doctor may monitor your INR more closely after treatment.
• Hormonal contraceptives: Emetant injection may make them less effective. Use an additional non-hormonal contraceptive method during treatment and for the recommended period after the last dose.
• Always tell your doctor about every prescription medicine, over-the-counter medicine, vitamin, and herbal or dietary supplement you take so they can plan your treatment safely.
