Ecovin 500 tablet is an antifungal medicine. It contains griseofulvin as its active ingredeint. It is used for the fungal infection of skin, nails, scalp and hairs which is not responding to topical
anti-fungal treatment. Fungus is prevent everywhere around us even on our skin or inside our body but not all of them are harmful. Fungal infection occurs when we come in contact with fungus or inhale it. The most common type of fungal infection is of external surface such as skin, hairs, nails etc. It can also spread to lungs if inhaled. Ecovin 500 tablet works by killing the fungus. Take this medicine as directed by your doctor.

Contraindications of Ecovin 500 MG
- If you are allergic to griseofulvin or any ingredients of Ecovin tablets.
- If you have a rare disease of blood called porphyria.
- If you suffer from a rare painful skin and tissue disease called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus(SLE)
- If you have any liver related disease.
- If you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding.

Other General Warnings
- You have any liver-related disorder, painful skin and tissue disease called systemic lupus erythematosus or blood-related disorder (porphyria).
- You are men taking this medicine as it can affect your sperm.
- You should not father a child while taking this medicine and for six months after you have stopped taking it.
- Avoid exposure to strong sunlight, or artificial UV light such as sunbeds while taking this medicine as it can make you more sensitive to sunlight.
- You and your partner should use additional contraceptive measures to prevent pregnancy during this period.
- Avoid consuming alcohol or alcoholic drinks as it may lead to the increased effect of alcohol and can make you sick and lead to increased heartbeat, chest pain etc.

- Take it as directed by your doctor with a glass of water.
- For the best effects this medicine should be taken after a high fat meal.

Interactions with other medicines
- Certain medicines can affect the way Ecovin 500 tablet works or Ecovin 500 itself can affect the action of other medicines taken along. It can reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptive medicines hence an additional physical barrier should be used as a contraceptive measure to prevent pregnancy while using this medicine. You are taking anticoagulant medicine, your doctor may modify your dose and check your condition regularly during the treatment and for 8 days after finishing treatment with this medicine. Other medicines such as painkillers, anti-epileptic medicine, medicine for psychiatric illness, vitamin D supplements and immunomodulators (ciclosporin) should be used cautiously....
