Duojet respule is used to treat the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), such as difficulty in breathing, coughing, and wheezing. It contains a combination of ipratropium and levosalbutamol as active ingredients. This medicine works by reducing the narrowing of the smooth muscles in the airways. Duojet respule also helps to relax the airway muscles, making breathing easier.
COPD is a chronic lung disease in which the lungs become inflamed and the airflow in and out of the lungs is reduced. This obstruction leads to symptoms like coughing, wheezing, and breathlessness.
Duojet respule should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It should always be administered using a nebulizer, a device that converts the medicine into a fine mist so it can reach the lungs effectively. Your doctor or pharmacist will guide you on the correct use of the nebulizer.
Do not use Duojet respule if you are allergic to any of its components. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, and share your complete medical history. Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines and supplements you are taking.

- You are suffering from heart, liver or kidney problems.
- You have diabetes, glaucoma or fits.
- You have high blood pressure or an overactive thyroid gland.
- You have difficulty passing urine due to bladder problems or an enlarged prostate (mostly in men).
- You are suffering from a condition called cystic fibrosis. It increases the chances of stomach disturbances if you use Duojet respule with it.
Directions for Use
- Duojet respule should only be given using a nebuliser with a face mask linked to an air compressor and under the supervision of a doctor.
- Remove the pouch, open one respule, squeeze the contents into the nebulizer, and discard the respule. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration based on age, weight, and medical condition.
- Do not dilute the content, inhale it directly, or swallow it. Dispose any leftover solution and opened respules.
Storage and disposal
- Store Duojet respule below 25°C in a clean and dry place, protected from moisture, sunlight and heat.
- Keep the medicine away from children and pets.
Quick Tips
- Clean the nebulizer after every use as per the instructions mentioned.
- It is recommended to rinse your mouth with water after inhalation of this medicine.
- You may develop oral fungal infection and an increase in wheezing after using this medicine.
- Do not stop taking Duojet respule without consulting your doctor, even if you feel relieved after taking a few doses.
- Antifungal medicines such as Ketoconazole and Itraconazole should not be taken along with Duojet respule.
- The chances of side effects increase significantly in the elderly population, so elderly patients should be cautious while using Duojet respule.
- This medicine is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.

Overdose
- The symptoms of overdose are headache, dry mouth, palpitation, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, fever, sleeplessness, nervousness, shakiness, restlessness, confusion, hallucinations, fits, chest pain, high or low blood pressure or irregular heartbeats.
- If you experience any of the symptoms or think you have taken too much Duojet respule, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of Duojet respule along with medicines used to treat psychiatric illness (e.g., Amitriptyline, selegiline) or medicines used to treat asthma (e.g., Albuterol, Epinephrine) should be avoided as it may alter the effects of this medicine.
- Concomitant use of this medicine with beta-blockers like Propranolol, Labetalol, etc. (used to treat high blood pressure and heart problems) may decrease the effectiveness of Duojet respule.
- Concomitant use of this medicine with water pills like Furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide may decrease the potassium level in the body, which can lead to heart rhythm abnormalities. Your doctor may advise monitoring the blood potassium level.
- Other medicines like Digoxin (used to treat heart problems) and xanthine preparations like Theophylline (used in asthma) should be used cautiously.
