• To treat various acute and chronic respiratory system related disorders especially with thick mucus (bronchitis, and other inflammatory conditions of the nasal tissues).

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Diarrhoea
• Loss of appetite
• Itching of the genitals (vagina/ rectum)
• Increased sensitivity to light

Other General Warnings

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You are allergic to the active ingredient doxycycline and/or ambroxol.
• you have kidney or liver problems.
• You have myasthenia gravis (a disease that causes unusual tiredness and weakness of certain muscles, particularly in the eyelid).
• You are suffering from a blood disorder (porphyria).
• You are suffering from a disease of the immune system (systemic lupus erythematosus).
• You are suffering from a bacterial infection to the genitals (syphilis).
• You are suffering from ulcers in the stomach and intestine.
• You are prone to experience diarrhoea after taking antibiotics.
• You experience severe diarrhoea after taking Doxylab capsule.
• You are suffering from a rare skin disorder (Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
• You are likely to be exposed to sunlight for a long period of time as this capsule can increase your sensitivity to light.

• Take the Doxylab capsule in dose and duration as directed by your doctor.
• Do not break or crush the capsule.
• Do not consume the medicine if it has passed its expiry date.

Overdose

• It is always advised that you should take the medicine as recommended by your doctor. In case you take more than recommended dosage you make experience unwanted effects like nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, chest pain, fever, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching (especially affecting the whole body). Please contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately if you feel you have taken more than recommended medicine.

Interactions with other medicines

• Concomitant use of Doxylab capsule along with antacids (containing magnesium, aluminium), iron preparations, calcium supplements, oral zinc or bismuth. carbamazepine, phenytoin (medicines used to control fits and brain disorder) and barbiturates (used to control fits and have a calming effect on the mind), as these medicines reduce the effect of Doxylab capsule.
• Doxylab capsule contain doxycycline which can increase the action of blood thinners like warfarin thus both must be used together with caution.
• Doxylab capsule contain doxycycline that decreases the effectiveness of medicines like birth control pills and penicillin antibiotics like amoxicillin, ampicillin, dicloxacillin, oxacillin (used to treat infections) hence coadministration should be done carefully
• Doxylab capsule decrease the elimination of medicines used to modify the body's immune system (ciclosporin), thus inform your doctor before taking these medicines together.
• Concomitant use of Doxylab capsule and derivatives of vitamin A (oral retinoids) should be done carefully as you may experience increased pressure in the skull causing headache and blurred vision.
• Discuss with your doctor about any other medicine, herbal preparation and supplements you are taking currently to avoid any possible drug interactions.
