Doxy C 100 MG Description

Doxy C capsule is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, airways, skin, eye, and genitals. It contains doxycycline as an active ing

redient. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to a group of medicines called tetracycline antibiotics. Doxy C capsule or any antibiotic should not be used when you are not sure if the infection is due to bacteria. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor. Complete the entire course of antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor or it may lead to relapse or return of the infection. Avoid skipping a dose or consuming it more than recommended. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Doxy C capsule should not be used during tooth development (last half of pregnancy; infancy and childhood to the age of 8 years) as it may cause permanent discolouration of the teeth.

Doxy C capsule may pass into human breast milk and may cause permanent discolouration of the teeth of the baby. Hence this medicine should not be used by a breastfeeding mother.

Can I drive if I have consumed Doxy C capsule?

Doxy C capsule may not affect your ability to drive. However, if you experience any side effects after taking this medicine that may alter your ability to drive safely, it is advised to avoid driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Doxy C capsule?

Doxy C capsule interacts with alcohol and increases the side effects of this medicine.

You have any underlying medical condition like liver or kidney-related problem, muscle weakness.

You have a genetic disorder of blood resulting in defective haemoglobin, purple patches on the skin and nerve damage (porphyria).

You are already taking oral retinoids or isotretinoin.
You develop diarrhoea after using this medicine.

How Does It Work?

Doxy C capsule interferes with the formation of proteins, which are essential for the survival and growth of bacteria. This prevents bacterial replication and thus, controls the infection.

Directions for Use of Doxy C 100 MG

Doxy C capsule should be taken exactly as recommended by the doctor.
Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
It can be taken with food or milk.
It would be best if you take it at a fixed time for optimal results.
Do not consume more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.
