Uses of Dermi 5 Plus Tube Of 15gm Cream
Dermi 5+ cream is used for the treatment of skin inflammation including bacterial and fungal infections.
Contraindications of Dermi 5 Plus Tube Of 15gm Cream
- If you are allergic to clobetasol, gentamicin, ketoconazole, iodochlorhydroxyquinoline or any other ingredient of Dermi 5+ cream.
- If you suffer from acne or an infection on the face, around the mouth or private parts.
- If you have chickenpox, shingles, warts or other wounds and skin infections.
- If you have an untreated skin infection or skin thinning problem.
- If you are suffering from any eye infections.
- This cream must not be used in children below 1 year of age and for a nappy rash.

Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if

- Avoid getting the cream into the eyes, nose, mouth, open wounds, armpits or private parts. In case of such exposure, wash the affected part thoroughly with water.
- You develop diarrhoea or stomach cramps.
- You are applying other topical medicines (cream, ointment, lotion, etc).
- You do not notice an improvement in the condition after applying the medicine for two weeks.
- It must not be used for a longer duration without proper medical guidance. Avoid using this medicine for a prolonged period.
- You have recently used a topical preparation (cream, lotion, gel, etc.) containing steroid to treat your skin infection.
- This cream is not recommended for patients below the age of 18 years.
Mode of Action of Dermi 5 Plus Tube Of 15gm Cream
How Does It Work?
Dermi 5+ cream contains clobetasol, gentamicin, ketoconazole and iodochlorhydroxyquinoline.
Clobetasol is a steroid, it blocks the production of certain chemical substances in the body (prostaglandins) which cause itching, swelling and redness.
Gentamicin is an antibiotic and it inhibits the growth and multiplication of bacteria causing infection.
Ketoconazole interferes with the cell membranes of fungi, thus stopping their growth and eventually causing its death.
Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline (also called Clioquinol) reduces skin infections caused by bacteria. It inhibits certain enzymes involved in DNA synthesis of bacteria resulting in the death of bacteria. It is also effective against some fungal skin infections....

- Avoid getting any medicine into the eyes, nose or mouth.
Interactions of Dermi 5 Plus Tube Of 15gm Cream
Interactions with other medicines
- Dermi 5+ cream is applied externally on the skin, it is less likely to interact with other medicines which are taken orally. It interacts with other topically applied creams, lotion and gel. Discuss with the doctor if you are using other topical gel or cream....
- It must be used with caution along with ritonavir (used in HIV infection) and itraconazole (used to treat fungal infections), as it may increase the risk of having side effects.

Dosage of Dermi 5 Plus Tube Of 15gm Cream
Overdose
Dermi 5+ cream is used for external application, an overdose is unlikely. However, excessive use may cause burning sensation, skin redness or swelling. Contact your doctor if you experience any unusual symptoms or upon accidental ingestion. Upon accidental ingestion, contact the doctor or visit the nearest hospital. If you have overapplied it, wipe out the excess medicine with tissue or cotton....
Missed a Dose
If you have missed applying Dermi 5+ cream, apply it as soon as possible. Do not over-apply this medicine to compensate for the missed application.
