Medical Description
Crikzo capsule is a prescription oral targeted anticancer medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). It is primarily used for the treatment of adult patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors are ALK (anaplastic lymphoma kinase)-positive or ROS1-positive. The medication works by inhibiting specific abnormal enzymes that promote cancer cell growth and survival, blocking tumor proliferation and inducing cell death.
Treatment with Crikzo capsule requires regular medical supervision by an experienced oncologist. Because this medication can impact heart rhythm, liver function, vision, and lung health, regular clinical monitoring is required.. Blood tests, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and eye assessment when clinically indicated are important components of treatment monitoring.
Patients receiving this therapy must be informed about potential risks, including visual disturbances, gastrointestinal effects, elevated liver enzymes, and changes in cardiac rhythm. Close communication with your healthcare team is vital to ensure that side effects are managed promptly.
