Primolut N 5 MG Description
Primolut N tablet is used to treat menstrual and gynaecological disorders. It contains norethisterone as an active ingredient. This medicine is a synthetic form of the female sex hormone progesterone. It imitates the actions of the natural hormone progesterone, normalizing the menstrual cycle.
Take the Primolut N tablet as advised by your doctor and for the duration as specified. Inform your doctor about your complete medical and medication history before initiating treatment with this medicine. Some other medicines containing norethisterone are Regestrone 5 tablet, Sysron N tablet and Gynaset 5 tablet.
Breast tenderness, headaches, nausea, indigestion, tummy pain, and unusual vaginal bleeding are a few common side effects that can be observed during the treatment. However, it is not necessary that everyone experience the same.

- If you are allergic to norethisterone or any of the ingredients of Primolut N tablet.
- If you have a history of jaundice or skin allergies such as pruritus during pregnancy.
- If you have disorders of lipid metabolism or abnormal cholesterol levels.
- If you often experience vaginal bleeding and it is not being diagnosed yet.
- If you have a history of breast or vaginal cancer.
- If you have active or have a history of liver-related diseases such as jaundice.
- If you have a history of heart disorders like chest pain (angina), heart attack or stroke.
- If you have blood clotting disorders such as thrombophlebitis and thromboembolism.
