Medical Description

Cetfast M 10/ suspension is an oral liquid used to manage allergic rhinitis, which can cause sneezing, a blocked or runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes. It contains a combination of levocetirizine, an antihistamine, and montelukast, which reduces the effect of allergy-related leukotrienes. Levocetirizine eases histamine-related symptoms, while montelukast reduces swelling and mucus in the nose and airways. Shake Cetfast M suspension, measure it with the device supplied with the pack, and take it by mouth with or without food as prescribed. Regular use can help prevent symptoms and reduce flare-ups, but it is not a rescue treatment for sudden breathing difficulty.

How does this medicine work?

Levocetirizine blocks histamine, a chemical messenger responsible for sneezing, itching, runny nose and watery eyes. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemical messengers that can cause swelling and mucus in the nose and airways. Together, they reduce allergy-related inflammation and symptoms.

In particular, mention sleeping medicines, anxiety medicines, muscle relaxants and opioid pain medicines, which may increase sleepiness, and phenytoin, phenobarbital or rifampicin, which may reduce montelukast levels.
