Medical Description

Caldicare D3 syrup is a nutritional supplement used to support calcium and vitamin D intake and bone health when these nutrients are low or extra support is advised. It contains a combination of elemental calcium and vitamin D3, also called cholecalciferol. Calcium helps maintain bones, teeth, muscle contraction and nerve function, while vitamin D3 helps the body absorb and use calcium. Caldicare D3 syrup is taken by mouth after shaking the bottle and may be considered for older adults or during pregnancy or breastfeeding only after professional advice. It should complement, not replace, a varied and balanced diet.

Uses

  • Calcium and vitamin D support: Elemental calcium and vitamin D3 help provide these nutrients when dietary intake is insufficient or extra support is advised.
  • Bone health support: Regular calcium and vitamin D intake helps maintain bone strength and reduces nutritional gaps that can affect skeletal wellbeing.
  • Support during higher needs: Additional calcium and vitamin D may be advised for older adults, pregnancy or breastfeeding after total intake is reviewed.

How does this medicine work?

Elemental calcium supplies the mineral needed for bones, teeth, muscle contraction and nerve signalling. Vitamin D3 helps the intestine absorb calcium and supports its use in the body. Together, these nutrients support normal mineral balance and skeletal health.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Caldicare D3 syrup works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, mention thyroid medicines, some antibiotics, iron supplements, antacids, steroids, medicines for heart conditions, medicines for osteoporosis, water tablets and other calcium or vitamin D products. Calcium may reduce absorption of some thyroid medicines, antibiotics and iron supplements, while antacids and overlapping supplements may increase total intake.
