Medical Description

Brohex syrup is an expectorant or mucus removing medicine. The main use of Brohex syrup is to reduce the cough and clear the airway by removing the mucous. It is also used in any respiratory condition associated with excess thick mucus production. A few side effects of Brohex syrup have been noted, such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, etc.; however, most of them do not need any medical attention and resolve themselves. The one main active ingredients in Brohex syrup are Bromhexine. The mode of action of Brohex syrup is to make the mucus thinner by increasing its production and subsequently breaking it down. This results in coughing out the excess mucus and clearing the airway, making it easy to breathe. It also reduces the cough that occurs due to excess mucus. It is better to follow your doctor’s directions for use of Brohex syrup correctly. Try to drink a lot of fluids that can help with clearing the mucus and let the airway get dry. If you want to give this syrup to children below the age of 6, inform your doctor. Also, people with any disorder should inform the doctor of their health status at the time of prescription of Brohex syrup. This syrup can be taken with or without food. Do not take Brohex syrup more or use them for longer than recommended.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Brohex syrup has one main component: Bromhexine Bromhexine acts on the mucus at the beginning stages in the glands when the mucus-secreting cells start producing it.
