Brintop tablet contains minoxidil as its active ingredient and is prescribed for managing severe hypertension. It helps lower high blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. Brintop tablet reduces resistance in the blood vessels of the arms and kidneys, improving blood flow to the arms while maintaining stable blood flow and filtration rate in the kidneys.

Uses of Brintop 5 MG

Brintop tablet is used to treat severe high blood pressure.

Contraindications of Brintop 5 MG

If you are allergic to minoxidil or any of the other ingredients of Brintop tablet.
If your high blood pressure is caused by hormones from a tumour (phaeochromocytoma), usually near the kidneys.
If you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.
If you have heart failure (you may feel breathless, wheezy or tired, and your ankles may swell up).
If you have ever had a heart attack.

Side effects of Brintop 5 MG

Salt and water retention (ankles may become puffy, rings may feel tight, or you may gain weight).
Elevated heart rate.
Increased hair growth.
Dizziness, particularly when standing up.
Wheezing, breathlessness, and fatigue, especially if you already have a weak heart.
Angina (typically presenting as chest pain) for the first time; if you already experience angina, it may worsen.

Pregnancy

Can I take Brintop tablet during pregnancy?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking Brintop tablet.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Brintop tablet while breastfeeding?

Brintop tablet passes into breast milk and is not recommended if you are breastfeeding unless your doctor thinks it is necessary.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Brintop tablet?

Brintop tablet may make you feel faint or dizzy, particularly when you first start treatment or your dose is increased. If so, do not drive or operate machines.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Brintop tablet?

The interaction of Brintop tablet with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor if you are a chronic drinker.
