Medical Description
Blentop powder for injection is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (characterised by one or more tumours formed in the pancreas or upper part of the small intestine). It contains pantoprazole as its main component. It belongs to a group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors, which reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
Blentop powder for injection decreases gastric acid secretion by blocking the actions of a protein membrane called H+k+atpase (proton pump) across the stomach lining. As a result, it helps prevent the worsening of ulcers, promotes the healing of existing ulcers and oesophageal lesions, and provides relief from unpleasant symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract (such as acidity, heartburn, and acid reflux).
Blentop powder for injection may not be suitable for everyone. Before using this medication, inform your doctor if you have severe liver issues, are on HIV treatments, have had allergic reactions to similar drugs, or have osteoporosis. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also seek medical advice before use. Avoid alcohol, as it can increase stomach acid and worsen symptoms. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive or operate machinery.
