How Does It Work?
Bisoprolol is a potent, highly beta-selective adrenoceptor blocking agent. It works by relaxing blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure and heart rate.
Directions for Use of Bisonext 2.5 MG
- The tablet is advised to take once in the morning
- Follow the instructions on the prescription carefully. In case of doubt, ask the pharmacist or the doctor for clarification
- Do not crush, break or chew the tablet
- Swallow the entire tablet with a glass of water
Interactions of Bisonext 2.5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Intake of bisoprolol with other beta-blockers can lower blood pressure, which can cause adverse effects like dizziness
- Intake with other arrhythmia medicines can lower heart rate excessivley
- Combination with other blood pressure lowering medicines can worsen heart failure, while abrupt stoppage of these medicines may cause rebound hypertension
- Caution must be exercises before combining bisoprolol with insulin, oral anti-diabetics, digitalis glycosides, NSAIDs, parasympathomimetics, mefloquine, rifampicin, MAOIs, ergotamine derivatives.
Interactions with food items
A low sodium diet should be followed as an interaction of sodium with bisoprolol negates the effectiveness of bisoprolol.
