Betheran tablet is used for the treatment of urinary retention (difficulty to pass urine) caused due to surgery or delivering a baby. It contains bethanechol as its active medicine that works by incr
easing the tone of the bladder muscle and causing contraction of bladder muscle which helps to pass urine and cause relief of nonobstructive urinary retention. Take Betheran as advised by your treating doctor at the prescribed dose and duration. Before, starting the treatment with this medicine, inform your doctor about all the medical and medication history.

Uses of Betheran 25 MG
For the treatment of urinary retention (difficulty to pass urine) caused due to surgery or delivering a baby.
Contraindications of Betheran 25 MG
- If you are allergic to bethanechol medicine or any other ingredients of Betheran tablet.
- If you have any kind of heart disease such as low blood pressure or slow heartbeats.
- If you have pre-existing health conditions such as asthma, overactive thyroid, fits, stomach or bowel ulcer, Parkinson's disease (a brain disorder) etc.
- If you have peritonitis (inflammation of the membrane lining the inner abdominal wall and covering organs inside the abdomen).
- If you had undergone surgery on the bladder or intestines recently.
Side effects of Betheran 25 MG
- Nausea
- Vomiting

- Loose motion
- Stomach cramps
- A feeling of an urgent need for urination
- Burping

Pregnancy

It is not known whether components of this medicine can cause harm to unborn babies or not, thus it should be avoided in pregnant women. If you become pregnant while on the treatment with this medicine immediately inform your doctor.
Breast Feeding

Can I take Betheran tablet while breastfeeding?

Components of this medicine are not known to pass in breastmilk. However, this medicine should be avoided if you are breastfeeding.
Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Betheran tablet?
A:
This medicine can cause drowsiness. Therefore do not drive until you know how the medicine affects you.
Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Betheran tablet?
A:
Consuming alcohol with this medicine can increase sleepiness and dizziness. Avoid consuming alcohol while on this medicine.
Other General Warnings

How Does It Work?
It works by increasing the tone of the bladder muscle and causing contraction of bladder muscle which helps to pass urine and cause relief of nonobstructive urinary retention.
Directions for Use of Betheran 25 MG
- Take this medicine on an empty stomach as prescribed by your doctor.
- You should take this medicine regularly at the same time and without fail as directed by your doctor.
- You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

- Some medicines can affect the way Betheran tablet works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.

Overdose

Missed a Dose
If you have missed taking any dose of this medicine then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
