Medical Description
Bdcaspo Dry powder for injection is an antifungal medicine used to treat serious fungal infections in the bloodstream, deep tissues, food pipe, lungs or other organs. It contains caspofungin, which blocks a substance fungi need to build and maintain their protective cell wall. Without this wall, fungal cells become weak and stop growing, allowing the body to clear the infection. This powder is prepared and given through a vein by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic for adults and children with serious infections, including people with weakened immune systems. It may also be used when a fungal infection is suspected in a person with fever and a low white blood cell count after antibacterial treatment has not helped.
