Medical Description

Azibact 500 tablet is a medicine that belongs to the group of macrolide antibiotics used to treat different kinds of bacterial infections. It contains azithromycin as its active ingredient. It is recommended that you should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. You may experience some common side effects like vomiting, nausea, stomach pain and diarrhoea on taking this medicine. If you are taking any antacids, then the Azibact 500 tablet should be taken at least one hour before or two hours after the dose of antacids. Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions before the use of this medicine.

  • Used in the treatment of bacterial infection in the ears, lungs and other parts of the body.

  • Diseases arising from infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia.
  • Urinary infection.

Contraindications of Azibact 500mg Tab 5'S

Do not take this medicine if you have any allergic reactions to it or any other antibiotic from the same class as erythromycin.

Can I take the Azibact 500 tablet during pregnancy?
The effect of the Azibact 500 tablet on the foetus is not known, consult your doctor if you are pregnant, your doctor will decide whether to use this medicine after assessing the benefits over risks.

Breast Feeding

Can I take the Azibact 500 tablet while breastfeeding?
Azithromycin partially passes into the breastmilk. If you are taking the Azibact 500 tablet then stop breastfeeding your baby. It is advised to discard the milk during treatment and until two days after discontinuation of treatment. You can restart breastfeeding thereafter.


Can I drive if I have consumed the Azibact 500 tablet?
