• If you are allergic to cetrimide, gamma benzene hexachloride or any of the other ingredients of Ascabiol Skin Emulsion.
• In body cavities like the mouth or ear or as an enema (a treatment to clean the bowel).
• If you are using Ascabiol Skin Emulsion near the eyes and middle ear and surrounding areas.
• If you are using this medicine in premature infants.
• If you have crusted (Norwegian) scabies and other skin conditions (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis).
• If you have a known uncontrolled seizure/fits disorder.

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Itching
• Burning/pricking sensation
• Red, itchy rashes

Other General Warnings

• You have experienced a seizure in the past or you have any problem that could increase your chances of getting a seizure (like a head injury, tumour in your brain or spinal cord, cirrhosis of the liver or heavy alcohol drinking).
• You have HIV/AIDS.
• You are pregnant.
• You have a sexual partner.
• You accidentally swallow this medicine.
• You develop local skin reactions like inflammation of the skin.
• You take medicines to help you sleep.

• Use Ascabiol Skin Emulsion as directed by your doctor.
• This medicine is for external use only.
• Apply it on a healthy skin surface free from cuts and wounds.
• Wash your hands before and after using this medicine unless your hands are the area to be treated.
• In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

• Store Ascabiol Skin Emulsion at 20°C - 25°C.
• Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

• Ascabiol Skin Emulsion is used to treat scabies and other skin infestations caused by mites.
• This medicine should not be used for treating any other condition unless specified by the doctor.
• Ascabiol Skin Emulsion is meant for external application and should not be swallowed.
• Do not use more than the recommended amount of this medicine or do not use it for longer periods of time than directed.
• Wash your hands before and after using this medicine unless your hands are to be treated.
• Clean and dry the affected area before applying Ascabiol Skin Emulsion.
• Shake the bottle well before use. Massage the emulsion into the skin until it is fully absorbed.
• Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and nose while applying it.
• Before starting Ascabiol Skin Emulsion, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding.
• It is not recommended to apply this medicine to the breast and other large areas of the skin that can come in contact with the infant.
• Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you are using and your complete medical history.
• Ascabiol Skin Emulsion can cause redness, burning, rash, headache, or itching. However, not everyone who uses this has these side effects.
• If your symptoms do not improve after a few weeks of using the Emulsion, consult your doctor.

How Does It Work?

• Ascabiol Skin Emulsion contains cetrimide and gamma benzene hexachloride as active substances.
• Cetrimide is an antiseptic medicine that kills or stops the growth of microorganisms that cause scabies.
• Gamma benzene hexachloride is an anti-parasitic medicine that gets directly absorbed into the parasites and their ova (mature female reproductive cell) and kills the scabies-causing parasite.

Interactions with other medicines

• Since Ascabiol Skin Emulsion is to be used externally on the skin, it is less likely to interact with other medicines.
• However, always consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines for treating other health conditions.
• Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines like antipsychotics, antidepressants, theophylline (used to treat asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), cyclosporine, mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus (used to prevent organ rejection after a transplant), penicillins, imipenem, quinolone antibiotics (used for the treatment of bacterial infections), chloroquine (used to treat and prevent malaria), pyrimethamine (used to treat toxoplasmosis), isoniazid (used for the treatment of tuberculosis), meperidine (used to treat pain), methocarbamol (used to relax muscles) and centrally active anticholinesterases.
• Radiographic contrast agents when used with Ascabiol Skin Emulsion may increase the chance of seizures/fits.
