- Anxit 0.5 mg tablet is used for,
- Treatment of anxiety disorder
- Treatment of panic disorder
- Treatment of depression
- Treatment of premenstrual syndrome
Contraindications
- If you are hypersensitive or allergic to alprazolam or any of the inactive ingredients of Anxit Tab.
- If you are taking ketoconazole or itraconazole for fungal infections.

- You have a history of any visual, lung, liver, or kidney disorder.
- You have a history of any mental condition.
- You are taking any vitamins or health supplements along with the medication, even if the supplement is ayurvedic or herbal.
- You experience sudden mood changes, unusual body movements, hallucinations or seizures.
- Your job requires you to drive or operate machinery.
- You regularly smoke cigarettes. Cigarettes can decrease the concentration of alprazolam in blood.
- You have suicidal thoughts.
- You want to increase or decrease the dose of Anxit Tablet. The medicine has to be stopped gradually.
Directions for Use
- Anxit Tablets is generally prescribed as a long-term medication and should be taken regularly.
- For optimal pharmacological effects, maintain a proper schedule and take the Anxit Tab at the same time every day.
- Anxit Tablets can be taken with or without food. However, it is better to take it with food to avoid any stomach issues.
- Do not discontinue Anxit Tablet without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better than before. It can worsen the present situation.
- You should consume the Anxit Tablet as a whole tablet with some water. Do not crush, chew, or break it.

Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid adverse side effects associated with medicine interaction, please inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you are currently taking.
- Anxit Tablets react with the following medicines:
- Aceclofenac (painkiller)- can affect the excretion of alprazolam
- Acetaminophen (painkiller), nefazodone (antidepressant), delavirdine (antiviral)- can affect the metabolism of alprazolam
- Fluoxetine (antidepressant), erythromycin, rifamycin (antibiotics)- can increase the concentration of alprazolam in the body
- Hydrocodone, tramadol(opioid painkiller)- can lead to depressive effects on the nervous system
- Codeine (in cough syrups, painkillers)- can increase the severity of side effects if taken along with alprazolam
Interactions with food items
- Avoid consumption of grapefruit juice or its products with Anxit 0.5 mg Tablets.
- Other than this, a regular diet can be continued unless advised otherwise by the doctor.
