Molecule Description
Terazosin is ‘Alpha-blocker’ medicine, which is used in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, a male condition in which the prostate gland is enlarged.
Uses
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia in which it improves urination.
Contraindications
When should one not use Terazosin
- Do not take this medicine if:
- You are allergic to Terazosin or medicine similar to Terazosin such as Prazosin, Tamsulosin, Doxazosin
- You have heart failure
- You fall or faint during urination

Common side effects of this drug are:
- Dizziness
- Breathing difficulty
- Uneven heart rate
- Fainting on standing position
- Loose motions
- Headache
- Swelling of feet, hands, arms and legs
- Sleepiness
- Nervousness
- Constipation

It relieves the symptoms of enlargement of the prostate gland by relaxing the muscles of the bladder and prostate.
