Famotidine
Description
Famotidine is a medicine that helps reduce excess stomach acid and is commonly
used to relieve heartburn, acidity, indigestion, stomach ulcers, and GERD-related discomfort. It works by blocking histamine's action on the stomach’s acid-producing cells, thereby lowering acid levels and allowing the stomach and intestinal lining to heal naturally. By reducing acid, famotidine helps alleviate burning sensations, chest discomfort, sour belching, and postprandial pain, thereby improving comfort during digestion. It is important to use famotidine exactly as prescribed and follow healthy habits like eating smaller meals, avoiding spicy or oily foods, and limiting caffeine or alcohol to get the best results and prevent symptoms from returning.
