When should one not use Ambroxol+Terbutaline+Bromhexine+Cetirizine+Guaiphenesin / Guaifenesin

• If you are allergic to any ingredients of Ambroxol+Terbutaline+Bromhexine+Cetirizine+Guaiphenesin / Guaifenesin.
• If you are suffering from gastric ulcers.
• If you have any heart conditions or prone to heart disorders.
• If you have liver or kidney problems.
• If you have low immunity.

Common side effects of this drug are:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Drowsiness
• Indigestion
• Diarrhoea
• Dizziness
• Dry mouth

Other General Warnings

• You have a history or have any pre-existing health condition such as peptic ulcers, any kind of skin disorder, respiratory problem, diabetes, heart-related disorder, overactive thyroid or fits, etc.
• You are taking medications that make you calm or help you to sleep.
• You are suffering from high pressure inside the eyes (glaucoma) or have any kind of allergies.
• You are already taking any other medicines for cough.
• You have a liver or kidney problem. The doctor will decide on the dose accordingly.
• You are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding.
• You observe any unusual signs and symptoms during the treatment with this medicine.
• You have asthma or COPD (chronic obstructive lung disorder). Your doctor will decide if this medicine is suitable for you.

How Does It Work?

• Ambroxol+Terbutaline+Bromhexine+Cetirizine+Guaiphenesin / Guaifenesin contains ambroxol, bromhexine, terbutaline, guaiphenesin/guaifenesin, and cetirizine as its active ingredients.
• Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic agent. It works by loosening/thinning up the mucous in the respiratory passages and makes the mucous less sticky. Thereby helping in removing the cough out.
• Bromhexine helps in reducing the mucous by boosting the production of phlegm in the respiratory tract and aids to make the mucus thinner and less sticky. Therefore, it makes the expulsion of cough easier.
• Terbutaline has bronchodilator properties. It relaxes the muscles of the airways and inhibits the release of inflammation-causing chemical substances. Thereby, it improves airflow to the lungs and helps make breathing easier.
• Guaifenesin is an expectorant; it helps thin the mucous in the airways and makes it easier to cough out and clear the airways.
• Cetirizine inhibits the allergic symptoms produced by histamines (a certain chemical substance that is released by the body).

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Ambroxol+Terbutaline+Bromhexine+Cetirizine+Guaiphenesin / Guaifenesin or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Always inform your doctor about any other medicines, herbs, or supplements that you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Especially, if you are taking medicines for psychiatric or brain-related disorders such as desipramine, amitriptyline, corticosteroids like prednisone, anti-sickness medicines, medicines used to treat eye conditions like glaucoma, etc.
• Concomitant use of any other cough suppressants should be avoided, as it may alter the action of Ambroxol+Terbutaline+Bromhexine+Cetirizine+Guaiphenesin / Guaifenesin.
• Also, you should inform your doctor if your child or yourself have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.

Overdose

• Symptoms of an overdose include headache, anxiety, fits, abdominal cramps, and irregular heartbeats. Sometimes, a drop in blood pressure.
• If you think you have taken too much of Ambroxol+Terbutaline+Bromhexine+Cetirizine+Guaiphenesin / Guaifenesin contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

• If you have missed taking any dose of Ambroxol+Terbutaline+Bromhexine+Cetirizine+Guaiphenesin / Guaifenesin, take it as soon as you remember.
• If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
• Do not consume a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
