Medical Description

YBose Plus 0.3 SR tablet is a sustained-release combination medicine used with diet and exercise to control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It contains metformin and voglibose. Metformin helps the body respond to insulin and reduces sugar made by the liver, while voglibose slows carbohydrate breakdown so sugar enters the blood more gradually after meals. YBose tablet is taken by mouth with or after food and must be swallowed whole. Continue it as prescribed even when blood sugar or symptoms improve.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

Metformin reduces sugar production by the liver and helps body tissues respond better to insulin. Voglibose slows the breakdown of complex carbohydrates in the intestine, so glucose enters the blood more slowly after meals. Together, they improve overall blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way YBose tablet works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, mention other diabetes medicines or insulin because they can increase low blood sugar; medicines that affect kidney function, water tablets, steroids, cimetidine, and medicines used before scans or surgery. These combinations may alter blood sugar, kidney clearance or the safety of metformin.

Interactions with food items

Alcohol can increase the risk of low blood sugar and serious acid buildup related to metformin. Avoid alcohol unless your doctor says it is suitable, and do not delay or miss meals.
