Medical Description

Vinigel gel is a topical pain-relieving medicine for pain, swelling and stiffness in muscles and suitable superficial joints. It contains diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine, along with linum usitatissimum, menthol and methyl salicylate. Diclofenac reduces the chemical signals that cause pain and inflammation, while menthol and methyl salicylate provide local cooling or warming comfort; linum usitatissimum is part of the formulation without a separate described role. Vinigel gel is applied to clean, intact skin over the affected area and is not for broken or infected skin.

How does this medicine work?

Diclofenac reduces the formation of chemical messengers that produce pain, redness and swelling. Menthol creates a cooling sensation that can lessen the feeling of pain, while methyl salicylate provides warming local comfort. Linum usitatissimum is included as part of the formulation, but its specific role in this gel is not described.
