Overdose
- Due to its direct impact on the mu opioid receptor (present in your brain and spinal cord), an overdose of tianeptine can cause opioid-like symptoms, respiratory failure, and death. An overdose of this medicine can also cause an effect on the heart (cardiotoxicity). If you overdose on this medicine or suspect an overdose and experience any of these symptoms, immediately seek emergency medical treatment from a nearby hospital.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Side effects of medications for depression, like phenelzine and tranylcypromine, are worsened by a certain chemical present in Tynept tablet.
- Long term aspirin consumption increases levels of tianeptine in the blood, leading to increased side effects.
- Sedative medications like Benzodiazepines, phenobarbital, fentanyl, thiopental, pentobarbital, secobarbital, morphine and propofol interact with Tynept tablet and cause too much sedation.
Interactions with food items
- You can continue with the usual diet as food doesn’t influence the effect of Tynept tablet. Avoid consumption of alcohol as it interferes with the breakdown of tianeptine, leading to higher levels of the medicine in the blood, and hence, toxicity. Talk to your doctor about any supplements or herbal drinks you are currently taking before using Tynept Tab.
