Trazonil 50 mg tablets contain Trazodone hydrochloride as the active ingredient. It belongs to a group of antidepressants used for the treatment of psychiatric ailments like clinical depression, anxi
ety-related depression, schizophrenia, and sleep issues. In some cases, Trazonil 50 mg tablets are given along with therapy for alcoholism. The medicine works by regulating the serotonin levels in the brain tissues and increasing its effect of enhancing mood, behaviour and reducing anxiousness. The tablets are to be taken orally with water. Trazonil 50 mg tablets side effects include dizziness, vomiting, dry mouth, headaches, and muscle tremors. One of the complications of Trazonil 50 mg is orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure) which can cause fainting on standing from lying or sitting position. Therefore, it is recommended with caution in elderly patients. This antidepressant also has the risk of causing Serotonin syndrome, increased depression and agitated behaviour, which can be a serious complication. Thus, all patients on Trazonil 50 mg have to be monitored closely on a regular basis.

- Aspirin taken along with Trazonil tablets can cause increased bleeding.
- Antidepressants like Citalopram, Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, and Duloxetine can increase risk of Serotonin syndrome.
- Ketoconazole (anti-fungal) can increase serotonin in the body when taken along with Trazonil 50 mg.
- Antiepileptics like phenytoin decrease the effect of Trazonil 50 mg.
- Anticonvulsants like carbamazepine decrease the efficacy of Trazonil 50 mg.
